• Does it cost anything to be added to DesktopDimes.com? No, it's a free website.
• Then why is there a subscription option? The subscription services are for the enhanched features that improve on networking and organization. Everything that was free before the redesign, is still free.
• Is DesktopDimes.com a modeling agency? No, we are not an agency. Not even close to being one. This is a site for photographers and models to build an online portfolio and gain internet exposure.
• What kind of talent do you accept on the site? We are looking for glamour photographers and models. Glamour is the genre of modeling that highlights the sexyness of the models as opposed to fashion which highlights the clothing that the model wears.
• I applied to be on your site but wasn't accepted. Why is that? This is a dicey subject. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we must draw a line for who and what we want on the site. If the photo quality is horrendous or if the photos display explicit, erotic nudity, that's likely the reason. We still also judge whether the profile of the talent meets our standard of quality. This is subjective and is a very difficult process for us. While we don't require work from the best models and/or photographers in the world, we are looking to add talent that exhibits a potential future in glamour modeling. IMPORTANT: This is a glamour site ... not a fashion or commercial site. The photos that you submit must be glamour or it's unlikely that you will be approved.
• How long does it take for you to build my portfolio? We usually get your portfolio built within a week but on some occasions, it may take as long as two or three weeks. This is because we frequently travel and make not have access to the servers to make additions in a timely manner.
• I submitted photos for my portfolio. Why weren't they posted? There are two primary reasons that a photo may not be added to the site. The first and most common reason is that the photo is not of good enough quality. Out-of-focus, grainy and poorly framed photos will not be added. We don't require that you have a world-famous photographer shoot you but the pictures must be clear. Being a photographer myself, bad photos is one of my pet peeves. The second reason is that a photo may be too racy to be added. We don't allow nudes on the sites. Many photos walk the line on being inappropriate, so it's left up to our discretion.
• I'd like to exchange links. How do I get in touch with you? Visit our Links Page, copy our banner , link it to http://www.desktopdimes.com , and email us .
